Richtersveld Challenge’s 4-wheel drive vehicles were essential in Namibia and here in the Richtersveld.

The CSSA Field Trips Committee organizes frequent members-only tours to native habitats of cacti and other succulents. Several trips are planned to coincide with our biennial conventions (in odd-numbered years) with the cooperation of local host clubs. Additional (and often more elaborate and lengthy) trips to far-flung localities occur in the intervening years.
Succulent plants are fantastic creations of nature, and fortunately they lend themselves to container cultivation, so anyone with a sunny windowsill or patio can appreciate them at home. But an even greater thrill is to see the plants growing in their native habitats, which can be as variable, exotic and fascinating as the plants themselves.
These pages provide program details and information on past and upcoming trips conducted by the CSSA.
